The purpose of the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award (NRSA) Individual Predoctoral (Parent F31) award is to enable promising predoctoral students to obtain individualized, mentored research training from appropriate faculty sponsors while conducting biomedical research in scientific health-related fields relevant to the missions of the participating NIH Institutes and Centers. The proposed mentored research training must address the candidate’s identified research training and career goals and enhance the candidate's potential to successfully transition to the next phase of their biomedical research career.
