The College of Science Marketing and Communications team's primary duty is to execute the dean’s priority projects that build the reputation of the College, extend our reach and support recruitment. Whenever possible, we work across the College to meet additional needs.
Simple Projects - no form required!
Quick requests, like college website edits, posting to our social media, or getting help with the new Drupal website, do not require filling out this form. Please just send an email to the following folks and we will return your email as soon as we can:
- Erica Martin – Social media requests, request for (existing) promo items
[email protected] - Sharon Betterton – Website edits or help with Drupal 9 theme
[email protected]
Larger Projects - please submit a request
Larger projects like these will require a kickoff conversation to discuss the project scope and timeline. Until we confirm we have capacity for the project and get needed details, we can't begin.
- Content development. Story development, interviews, strategy, research, writing, editing and planning creative assets with our team (photos, graphics, etc).
- Graphic design and print services. Designing flyers, posters, powerpoints, new promotional items, technical illustrations or cover illustrations. We can work with you on creative design and manage the printing process. These services are free, but you will be responsible for printing costs.
- Web pages or websites. Most commonly a few pages on an OSU website – for a center, conference, facility, etc. Building a full website in our Drupal theme or Wordpress requires significant resources and lead time and are limited in scope.
- Photography. We hire photography help with headshots and planned lab shoots. We don’t currently offer event photography and group shots but can connect you to a contractor.
Timelines
Lead time is a critical consideration when we accept a project. Timelines will be established after our kickoff conversation, but some common lead times we need for projects are:
- 1-3 Business Days - sending email blasts (with all content written by you), proofreading/editing newsletters, connecting you with a photographer
- 5-10 Business Days - flyers, posters (includes ordering)
- promotional item design
- 1-3 Weeks - technical illustrations, powerpoints, webpages, IMPACT stories
- 2-4 Weeks - cover illustrations
Please review our events checklist for additional event-related timelines.
