2024 Research Grant
The Peanut Institute Foundation (TPIF) is a non-profit entity that funds peanut nutrition research. We are currently requesting proposals that increase our understanding of how the consumption of peanuts, peanut butter, and other peanut products affects human health. All novel and noteworthy proposals related to this topic will be reviewed.

Areas of interest include: brain health (eg., cognition/mental health/sleep quality); cancer prevention and management; vascular health; type 2 diabetes; child health and obesity; energy and vitality (eg., weight management, fitness, appetite, satiety, nutrient/energy absorption or bioavailability, inflammation). We are also interested in projects that incorporate themes of food as medicine, health equity, and healthy aging, and personalized nutrition. Other research areas that increase the understanding of peanut consumption and human health are also encouraged.

A suggested minimum funding amount of $25,000 not to exceed $250,000 is requested.

2024-2025 Public Health Research Grant
As part of a special research series, The Peanut Institute Foundation is requesting proposals on the effect of consumption of peanuts/peanut products in the diet on human health, and for reducing the public health burden of chronic diseases. Specifically, we are looking for robust designs, including large scale and/or long-term human studies. The committee’s areas of interest include:

- Child health, including obesity-related and non-obesity-related chronic diseases
- Reducing chronic disease burden among adults in clinical settings
∙ Novel approaches for managing and improving outcomes in prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, or gestational diabetes
∙ Liver or kidney disease
∙ Cancer prevention and/or management
∙ Other chronic diseases

Priority will be given to studies that incorporate one of the following themes:
- Health equity
- Food as medicine
- Healthy aging

We are also interested in understanding the economic impact for public health of the proposed study. Lab-based and/or animal studies are not appropriate for this grant.
