Oregon Sea Grant announces the 2026-2028 Biennial Research Competition
This call invites preliminary proposals from researchers who are affiliated with any Oregon institution of higher education for two-year research projects that address cutting-edge socioeconomic and biophysical science related to important marine and coastal issues. Preliminary Proposals are due Sunday, February 2, 2025 by 11:59pm PT.
Oregon Sea Grant research competitions will identify creative and rigorously conceived marine and coastal research projects that apply innovative socioeconomic and biophysical science to address critical marine and coastal issues, characterized by strong societal relevance. Each research project must include an engagement and outreach component designed to integrate potential information-users and interested parties into the research process and ensure the research results will be useful and usable to these constituencies.
Oregon Sea Grant is committed to building equitable and inclusive research, Extension, communication, and education programs that serve people with diverse identities, lived experiences, needs, perspectives, and ways of thinking. Oregon Sea Grant encourages submissions from researchers new to ORSG and those from diverse backgrounds.
