The annual grant competition for the John C. Erkkila, M.D. Endowment for Health and Human Performance is now open. As background, Dr. Erkkila is an orthopedic surgeon. Interest areas for this grant competition skew toward musculoskeletal science, kinesiology, and exercise science. Past awards have also included topics like metabolic disorders and mental health.
Awarded grants must “Involve clinical research, rehabilitation, and/or prevention as it relates to enhancing human performance/function.”
Awards are up to $25,000 for one-year projects. Applicants should ideally have IRB approval before submission. A pre-proposal 250-word abstract is due December 1. If invited, full proposals will be due February 1.
