NSF recently announced the Cyberinfrastructure for Sustained Scientific Innovation (CSSI) solicitation(22-632), with proposals due by December 16, 2022. A webinar about the program will be held on October 20, 2022 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM (see Cyberinfrastructure for Sustained Scientific Innovation (CSSI) Program Webinar | NSF - National Science Foundation ).

Through CSSI, the materials research community can address its needs in community software and data infrastructure. CSSI can directly support the development of needed software and data cyberinfrastructure that can harness the power of computation and data-intensive approaches to accelerate discovery. Data and Software support science and education in all programs in the Division of Materials Research including the Topical Materials Research Programs (TMRP)Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future (DMREF), the Materials Research Science and Engineering Centers (MRSEC),  the Partnerships in Research and Education in Materials, and the Materials Innovation Platforms (MIP).

Please see the solicitation for areas of particular, but not exclusive, interest to the Division of Materials Research (DMR). The upcoming CSSI Webinar will present: highlights of the solicitation, what has changed, and will feature a question and answer session.

For questions about a potential CSSI project relating to materials research, please contact Daryl Hess (dhess@nsf.gov). Please refer to the CSSI solicitation for names and contact information for projects that involve other divisions and stay tuned for the upcoming webinar about the CSSI solicitation.
